The evening of performance and visual arts will raise awareness about the disease and will feature a silent auction of artwork created by Alzheimer’s patients. The artwork has been created through Awakening Minds Art, an organization that works with people of all abilities but specializes on people with special needs. All proceeds from the auction will go to the Alzheimer’s Association of Northwest Ohio.
“An Evening of Expression-What Alzheimer’s” will feature performances that convey the challenges of living with Alzheimer’s. The highlights include: music by The Womack Family Band, a reading by Eric VanRenterghem, music by pianist Ann Buis, presentations by Bruce Boguski and Jim Steffen, a dance performed by Ed and Kathy Steffan, theater art by Lynn Ritter and Eric McKee, and videos featuring local people telling their story about life with Alzheimer’s.
Marty Williman will be honored for her many years working with the Alzheimer’s Association of Northwest Ohio.
Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at The Arts Partnership Box Office at 618 S. Main St. or by calling 419-422-4624. Blocks of tickets are available for long term care facilities at a discount rate of $10 per person. Dress for the event is “evening attire/black tie optional.”
